How Much Caffeine Does Uptime Have?

A 12 fl. oz bottle of Uptime has 142mg caffeine.

A 142 mg caffeine is quite alright for an energy drink. Uptime having this amount is similar to G Fuel Energy Tubs and Monster.

However, I personally like to have my caffeine content be somewhere between 50-100mg, that’s the sweet spot for me. I wouldn’t go for over 100mg of caffeinated energy drinks until I really need to stay awake.

Caffeine helps you to stay awake.
Caffeine helps you to stay awake.

Now all of this depends on your caffeine metabolism and caffeine tolerance. If you’re someone who consumes energy drinks regularly, you may need to go a bit further and adjust your caffeine content here and there.

But if you’re someone who has low caffeine tolerance, don’t consume energy drinks that have over 200mg caffeine.

As a friendly reminder, the FDA recommends 400mg caffeine per day for healthy males and females. Any caffeine content more than that may cause problems like:

  • Jitter
  • Restlessness
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia, etc.

Sugar Content Of Uptime Energy Drink

While "cane sugar" may sound very fancy and healthy, well, it isn't.
While “cane sugar” may sound very fancy and healthy, well, it isn’t.

The original 12 fl. oz bottle of Uptime contains 37g sugar from cane sugar while the sugar-free version has no sugar at all.

This may not sound like a lot, but if you consider 36g sugar a standard, a bottle of Uptime still surpasses it. Keep in mind that the AHA recommends 24g sugar for women and 36g for men, daily.

You shouldn’t waste all your daily sugar intake on a bottle of energy drink. Not just that. Too much consumption of sugar may cause problems like:

  • Inflammation
  • Spike in blood pressure
  • Headaches
sugar
Too much sugar intake may even cause “sugar-crash.”

While Uptime containing “cane sugar” may make you think that it’s a healthy option, well it’s not. Our body does not understand what cane sugar is. It’s still going to consume the cane sugar as added sugars, which isn’t healthy.

So, if you don’t want to end up with a sugar crash at the end of the day or just aren’t a fan of sugar, go for the sugar-free version of Uptime.

Artificial Sweeteners On Uptime

Uptime uses no artificial sweeteners in their original flavor, but artificial sweetener like Sucralose has been used on the sugar-free version.

Sucralose is a popular artificial sweetener used by many energy drinks for the “diet-friendly” option. The most popular product of sucralose is Splenda.

Here’s a detailed video on whether sucralose or Splenda is healthy or not.

FDA has approved artificial sweeteners. However, sweeteners like sucralose won’t help you in the long run.

But if you’re going for energy drinks with no added sugar, I suggest going for the ones which are naturally sweetened, they’re both healthy and low in calories.

Does uptime have B12?

Uptime does have B12. B12 is an essential nutrient that helps support healthy nerve cells and red blood cells. B12 is also important for energy production and proper brain function. The amount of B12 in Uptime Energy Drinks varies depending on the flavor.

Note that while B12 is an important nutrient, it’s generally recommended to get it from food sources rather than relying solely on supplements or energy drinks. If you have concerns about your B12 intake or are considering taking B12 supplements, it’s a good idea to speak with a healthcare professional.

How Many Calories Does Uptime Have?

The original 12 fl. oz bottle of Uptime has 150 calories while the sugar-free version has only 5.

The daily calorie intake is 2,500 calories for men and 2,000 calories for women. That depends on a person’s metabolism, body activity, age, etc.

Considering this, Uptime has a generous amount of calories. Whether you take the original version or the sugar-free one.

Because the energy drink isn’t overloaded with calories, it doesn’t mean you should chug it whenever you like. It’s not healthy at all.

Even with 150 calories, Uptime might have an impact on your body if you’re on a diet, so the best option is to go for the sugar-free option with only 5 calories per serving. It makes the energy drink healthier and won’t have a bad impact on your diet.

Final Thoughts

Each bottle of Uptime costing about $2.5, it’s a great choice of energy drink, but it can do some improvements. For example, fewer calories and less sugar on the original energy drink flavor for starters.

Other than that, with each 12 fl. oz bottle with 37g sugar, it’ll do its job at providing energy and helping stay awake properly.

The drink surely works if consumed within limits, but you shouldn’t consume it regularly unless you really have to. It’s also wise not to drink more than one bottle of Uptime each day.

Overall, it’s a pretty solid energy drink with the taste, quality, and everything the brand is offering.
