What Sweeteners Are Used?

sugars in spoons
Does it contain sugar?

Depending on the flavour or version, the sugar levels of Emerge energy drinks range from 8g to 12g.

I’m not big on the fact that the brand doesn’t provide ample information about its sugar content, in such a way that they didn’t specify which sugars are packed in the drinks.

Furthermore, adults should not take more than 30g of free sugar per day, according to the National Health Service (NHS).

I don’t believe that the sugar content of Emerge energy drinks is excessive. Uptime, for example, has a massive 37g sugar content in a similar serving size.

Nonetheless, the sugar-free versions of Emerge adds artificial sweeteners such as Acesulfame Potassium or Acesulfame-K.

Acesulfame-K is a sugar substitute that has no calories but is 200 times sweeter than conventional sugar.

However, being aware of the potential health effects of excessive sugar consumption is still a wise decision. Too much sugar, whether natural or artificial, can lead to health concerns such as:

What Is the Taste of Emerge Energy Drink?

In a word, I would describe the flavour of Emerge energy drink as scrummy. I should add that it bears a faint resemblance to a vintage Red Bull, but I’m not sure whether it was the intention of Emerge.

A Quick But Honest Review For Emerge Energy Drink

I like Emerge. The flavour to me is just right, despite having a sour flavour, it’s counteracted by the artificial sweeteners and sugar. To some people, this may come off as overpoweringly sweet and artificial in taste.

Furthermore, it contains no fat, which is great for those who enjoy energy beverages. Aside from that, Emerge Energy contains vitamins, which is a bonus.
