Does Zipfizz Energy Drink Actually Work?

Zipfizz is a popular energy drink mix.

Which each mix coming in little containers, and each serving containing 100mg caffeine, 20 calories, and absolutely no sugar at all.

The caffeine content in the energy drink immediately caught my attention and the zero sugar part is like the cherry on top.

Now all that might sound thrilling and all, but does the drink actually work?

The straightforward answer is; the drink works if you consume it within moderation, and gives you a nice energy drink boost too.

As I take a deeper dive on the topic, I hope to have you onboard, buckle up.

Let’s get started.

Zipfizz is a powdered energy drink. A powdered energy drink comes in powdered form instead of liquidated regular energy drinks, the only difference is, you mix water with powdered energy drinks.

Zipfizz is similar to drinks like Sneak Energy, Rogue energy, and G Fuel Powder.

Zipfizz has 100mg caffeine in each tube.

What Are The Nutrients In Zipfizz?

The nutrients of Zipfizz can be understood best by taking a glance at the picture given below. Have a look:

Nutrition facts of Zipfizz.

How Much Caffeine Does Zipfizz Have?

Zipfizz has 100mg caffeine in each of its tubes.

I really like the caffeine content of the drink. This will make you not feel any uneasiness or side effects of too much caffeine.

Zipfizz doesn’t have a vigorous 300mg caffeine content like Bang or Reign Energy.

I personally like my caffeine content in an energy drink to be about 50-100mg, as that is my body’s caffeine tolerance. Caffeine content more than the mentioned amount does more harm than any good. I don’t consume high caffeinated energy drinks often unless I really need to stay awake.

For a better understanding, the FDA recommends a maximum of 400mg caffeine consumption for both adult males and females.

This means, Zipfizz is way below the caffeine limitation, which is really good.

Does Zipfizz Have Any Sugar?

Zipfizz doesn’t have any added sugar.

Added sugar isn’t healthy for our overall health.

Added sugar isn’t healthy for our overall health.

The AHA recommends 24g and 36g sugar per day for women and men. That’s 6 and 9 teaspoons of added sugar each day for both genders.

Consumption of sugar more than that regularly may lead to:

  • Inflammation
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Weight Gain
  • Obesity
Consumption of added sugar sometimes can lead to headaches and sugar crashes.

According to this study, every 1 in 3 Americans have diabetes or is diagnosed with prediabetes. We know sugar is mainly the basis of diabetes, so it’s best to tone down the sugar a bit.

Artificial Sweeteners In Zipfizz

Zipfizz is artificially sweetened by sweeteners like Xylitol and Sucralose.

Xylitol is an artificial sweetener, used as a substitute for regular sugar. It’s mostly used on “sugar-free” chewing gums, candies, etc. A healthy adult can consume up to 50 grams of Xylitol per day.

Sucralose is a popular sugar alternative used by many brands. It’s a zero-calorie sweetener whose most common product is Splenda.

Splenda is used mostly by people diagnosed with diabetes to consume instead of actual sugar. Sucralose is 600 times sweeter than regular sugar.

If you want a better look over the matter, check out this video.

For your reassurance, artificial sweeteners have been approved by the FDA but have to be consumed within regulation.

How Many Calories Does Zipfizz Have?

Zipfizz has only 20 calories each serving.

A 20 calories in an energy drink are not too much at all. Even if we consider the daily recommended calorie intake, which is 2,500 and 2,000 calories for men and women. Keep in mind the numbers vary from person, age, metabolism, physical activity, etc.

If you’re a health-conscious person, you should know the calories you are consuming. Or even better, keep account of how many calories you are consuming every day.

Even if you’re on a diet, 20 calories in an energy drink should not cause any major harm.

Have a look at the table below for a better understanding:

Does Zipfizz Have Any Antioxidants?

If you take a closer look at the Zipfizz packaging, you’ll see the brand making claims about the drink giving you an energy boost from antioxidants.

The “antioxidants” that are in the energy drink are green tea extract and grape seed extract.

However, like the electrolytes, the drink doesn’t contain enough green tea or grape extract. According to this article, a normal person needs 300mg of EGCG for it to fully work.

Zipfizz names their blend “Botanical Antioxidant Blend” which only contains 205mg EGCG. But in the 205mg, 100mg caffeine is included, too. So, that makes it a 105mg blend only.

Zipfizz does have antioxidants or natural antioxidants, but it’s not enough for your body.

Vitamins In Zipfizz

Zipfizz is loaded with vitamins. The drink primarily has 8 vitamins, namely:

  • Thiamine
  • Riboflavin
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin B3
  • Vitamin B6
  • Vitamin B12

People are mostly worried about the tremendous content of Vitamin B12.

Zipfizz has 41.667% of the daily recommended intake of Vitamin B12, which is 2,500mg. Consuming this much vitamin B12 will not make you any healthier.

The B vitamins are water-soluble but overconsumption of Zipfizz might lead to many skin problems like acne.

People with vitamin B12 consume 2,000mcg or 2g of Vitamin B12 whereas a single serving of Zipfizz has 2,500mcg of B12, which is 500mcg more than the amount needed, regularly.

Besides vitamin B12, Zipfizz also has 8335 of the daily Vitamin C requirement. Overuse of ingredients in anything doesn’t make the product better.

Benefits Of Zipfizz

Zipfizz is a comparatively healthy energy drink option offering a lot of benefits. Some of which include:

  • Boost of energy
  • No feeling of fatigue if consumed in moderation

However, you will notice the benefits if you’re not reckless with your consumption

Side-Effects Of Zipfizz

Nothing has side effects if you’re careful with it.

The drink is sugar-free but you should look out for the caffeine amount, vitamin B12, vitamin C amount, and a couple of other things.

If you’re reckless with your Zipfizz consumption, it’s more likely that you will face side effects like:

  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Constant Headaches
  • Sleep Deprivation
  • Tooth Decay

The caffeine amount in Zipfizz might not be too much but it’s still something to be careful about. Remember we’re here for a boost of energy, not to create a caffeine addiction.

Does Zipfizz Use All Natural Ingredients?

Zipfizz manufacturer used to claim the drink being “all-natural”.

Few natural ingredients are used in the drink, but I personally don’t think it’s all-natural. Because Zipfizz uses artificial sweeteners like Sucralose, and sucralose isn’t natural at all. You’ll find an in-depth review in this article.

Is Zipfizz Really Healthy?

If you take a look at Zipfizz packaging, you’ll see the packaging saying “healthy energy drink.” Some websites online even recommends Zipfizz as a healthy energy drink.

Anyway, the brand uses the “healthy energy drink” as a marketing motto. But is it really that healthy?

Honestly, I don’t think Zipfizz is any worse or healthier than regular energy drinks.

The drink is loaded with vitamins, has no added sugar, and is low in calories. That makes the drink a better option than other energy drinks, but some ingredients in Zipfizz, if not consumed within moderation have a negative impact too.

Zipfizz contains a strong 2,500mcg vitamin B12 and 833% more than tolerable intake for vitamin C.

Does Zipfizz Energy Drink Really Work?

Zipfizz contains 100mg caffeine along with a generous amount of vitamins, has no added sugar along with only 20 calories.

Now considering these, the energy drinks definitely do what it says it does. Providing an energy boost and keeping you awake.

Here’s a video review of Zipfizz if you are interested.

After I drank Zipfizz I noticed some enhancement in my energy levels, which lasted for about 2 hours. The energy boost started kicking in 30 minutes after consumption and endured for 2 hours, good enough, I think.

I also felt more “awake” as it did help me stay awake, and fortunately enough, I did not face any fatigue or negative effects.

So, within my experience, Zipfizz energy drink works.

How long does Zipfizz last?

The effects of Zipfizz typically last for 4-6 hours. This depends on the individual’s tolerance to caffeine and the ingredients in the drink. The energy boost from Zipfizz may be felt within 15-30 minutes of consuming it, and can last up to 6 hours.

It’s important to note that the duration of the effects of Zipfizz can vary depending on factors such as age, weight, and caffeine tolerance. Additionally, consuming multiple servings of Zipfizz or combining it with other sources of caffeine can increase the duration and intensity of its effects.

How fast should you drink Zipfizz?

Zipfizz is a powdered energy drink mix that is typically mixed with water to create a refreshing beverage. When it comes to consuming Zipfizz, there is no specific timeframe within which you must drink it. However, it’s generally recommended to drink it at a moderate pace to allow your body to absorb the nutrients and caffeine gradually.

While there’s no strict rule for how fast you should drink Zipfizz, gulping it down quickly might not provide the best results. Drinking it too fast could potentially lead to an abrupt spike in caffeine intake, which might increase the risk of experiencing jitteriness or other unwanted side effects.

Drinks You Can Consider Instead Of Zipfizz

In case Zipfizz is not your forte, you can try these energy drinks instead:

The Bottom Line

Zipfizz is a great energy drink option if you are looking for something that is not overloaded with caffeine or sugar. And doesn’t have a ridiculous calorie count. I’ll give it a 7 out of 10.

If you’re looking for “healthy” energy drinks, Zipfizz isn’t the healthiest energy drink option but you can consume it. With 100mg caffeine with merely 20 calories and no sugar, I personally think it’s a bang for your buck.

However, vitamin B12 and C amounts are two things I am concerned about, but if you consume the energy drink within limits, you’ll be fine.

The energy drink definitely works given the caffeine amount, I myself felt the energy boost for 2 whole hours.
