Blue Rebel Energy Drink Review (Facts)

Blue Rebel energy drinks are made by Dutch Bros a well-known company in the United States.

They have been producing the renowned energy drink brand Red Bull drinks for years but have sold it.

They then began a new brand, Blue Rebel energy drink, which comes in slimline cans and can be mixed into other beverages.

Blue Rebel has a standardized amount of 80mg of caffeine in its 8oz serving. However, calorie counts differ by flavor and are often higher in larger sizes.

Sugar-free variants are also available. Iced drinks contain fewer calories than blended drinks.

Blue Rebel not only tastes excellent, but it also offers you a quick rush of energy, thanks to its caffeine concentration. However, its nutritional value is modest.

This is sugar-sweetened and loaded with preservatives, colors, and chemicals. It’s not that there aren’t other energy drinks like this; in fact, drinks like this cover up most of what’s available on the market.

If I had to rank this drink, I would give it a seven out of ten because it contains a moderate quantity of caffeine; however, its calorie content varies from flavor to flavor but is considered high for some.

An Inside to the story of Blue Rebel

Dutch Bros. company was founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma in Southern Oregon.

There are over 200 locations of the company. Each area offers a wide range of specialty coffee drinks created with a premium private bean blend roasted fresh every day.

Dutch Bros. Coffee donates one percent of its gross sales to the areas in which it operates.

The corporation provided more than $1 million to charity groups in 2011, including local food banks, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Cancer Society, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and others. Quite generous!.

Blue Rebel is a new private label energy drink from Dutch Bros, designed to be the best-tasting infused drink on the market.

Dutch Bros had been working on this for months, and you’ll be blown away by how delicious it is. Blue Rebel is comparable in taste and ingredients to Red Bull and is available in both original and sugar-free versions.

According to many different reviews, The Hawaiian Rebel; was one of the Blue Rebel flavors that proved to be the most popular amongst the Dutch Brothers. This Rebel’s flavors include bananas, orange, peach, and strawberry.

The all-rounder favorite Gummy Bear Rebel is tied with the Hawaiian Rebel for first place. The OG, not to be confused with the “Gummy Bear Rebel,” contains pomegranate, passion fruit, watermelon, and grapefruit flavors! I think I’ll have to go to Dutch today and purchase this one.

The flavor I fancied the most was, Ray of Sunshine since it contains peach, blackberry, and grapefruit flavors. It was a fruit mess but the flavor combination was nothing short of ecstasy.

In comparison to the Rebel, the line’s normally sweet flavors, it has a touch more acidity. So, if you like your food tart, be sure to include this in your shopping list.

Laser Cat is another one of Dutch Bros’ most basic flavors, which I like because I enjoy light, uncomplicated, and easy-to-drink drinks. This energy drink has a raspberry and coconut fruit flavor. It’s a good place to start if you’re new to Rebel, as you can’t go wrong with something so basic.

A guide to choose out of the 39 flavors available

Taste of Blue Rebel Energy Drink

While the original flavor has a typical flavor that is similar to other drinks of this type, you can always opt for one of its different varieties if you want a refreshing fruity hint in your beverage.

One of the main ingredients used in Blue Rebel is flavored syrup. All the other fruity flavors are added with it to make a combo for the drink, providing a refreshingly fruity flavored drink.

Given that this is Dutch Brothers’ first effort into the energy drink business, I expected them to spend some time perfecting the taste, which is why I was surprised to see that this is a Red Bull knockoff.

The company is constantly changing its flavors, and there are currently over 40 Blue Rebel flavors available that allow you to enjoy an excellent drink without feeling restless or anxious.

Ingredients – Overview

Like all other energy drinks, Blue Rebel consists of some primary ingredients incorporated in almost every other energy drink. These ingredients are:

  1. Carbonated water
  2. Sugar
  3. Citric acid
  4. Taurine
  5. Natural and artificial flavors
  6. Caffeine
  7. Vitamin B12

Carbonated Water

Carbonated water is water that has been saturated with carbon dioxide gas under high pressure. This process is initiated to make the drink bubbly. To boost the overall flavor, they’ve been salted.

Since it suppresses your appetite and causes you to eat less, this water is also known as empty calories. Due to the sheer volume of salt in the water, the food stays in your stomach for longer, making you feel fuller.

As a result, the carbonated water in the Blue Rebel energy drink will help you feel fuller and avoid meal crashes.

As a result, you may be able to put an end to those annoying sugar cravings that have been wrecking your diet.

Sugar

Checking the sugar data on the back of the Blue Rebel bottle must be a requirement for you. It contains 37 grams of total sugar, which is harmful to your health.

A teaspoon of sugar contains 4.2 grams of sugar. Consider scooping up 7 to 10 tablespoons of sugar and pouring it into a 12-ounce glass of water.

Isn’t that a little too sweet? You might be astonished to learn that the average can of Blue Rebel contains that much sugar.

Here’s the deal: any energy drink with more than 20 grams of sugar will give you an immediate burst of energy but will leave you weary when you stop drinking it.

This is because sugar in energy drinks triggers orexin, a neurotransmitter in the brain that keeps us active and awake, which is suppressed when blood sugar levels rise quickly.

When your sugar levels drop, you experience a sugar crash and become exceedingly exhausted.

Consuming high-sugar drinks of any kind have been linked to:

  1. Weight Gain
  2. Type 2 Diabetes
  3. Cardiovascular Diseases
  4. Gout
  5. Increased risk of premature death

Taurine

Taurine is a free-form amino acid found in foods and synthesized by the body from cysteine. Taurine is a nutritional supplement that can be found naturally in meat, fish, dairy products, and human milk.

Many people believe taurine is a stimulant, similar to caffeine, although this is not the case. In truth, the chemical is used as a nervous system depressant infamous energy drinks, although it only has a stimulating effect on the brain.

According to a study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, while drinking an energy drink containing taurine before a workout has grown increasingly popular, it had no influence on time-to-exhaustion or perceived exertion at high intensity.

Multiple studies show that taurine isn’t particularly beneficial and that it doesn’t need to be added to energy drinks. It doesn’t have many adverse side effects, but it also doesn’t provide much in the way of benefits.

Taurine is a major component for health-centered energy drinks such as Full-Throttle and is also a part of other major brands such as RedBull and Rockstar.

Citric Acid

Citric acid is a chemical component found in citrus fruits such as lemons, oranges, and limes. You’ve undoubtedly experienced the citrus acid after biting into a lemon a few times. It’s that sour substance that transforms you into an emoji in real life.

Although there is no link between citric acid and weight loss or increased energy, its antioxidant and fat-burning properties make it beneficial.

Caffeine

In a modest caffeine concentration of 80mg, Blue Rebel might quickly turn out to be vegan-friendly if you follow a well-tested consumption pattern in terms of caffeine intake.

Caffeine is a bitter natural stimulant that helps the neurological system work more efficiently. Caffeine stimulates the thermogenesis process, which boosts your metabolism. It assists the body in burning more and more fatty acids daily, resulting in the burning of more significant amounts of fat.

Caffeine levels greater than 400 mg per day, according to FDA, can cause serious adverse effects.

As a result, consuming more than five Blue Rebels every day may be hazardous to your health if you are considering caffeine alone, the sugar content of the drink is another thing to be cautious about.

Added Sugar

Artificial sweeteners can be used to replace sugar. There may be times when you cannot decide on an energy drink for yourself; you’d prefer it to be sugar-free; this is where artificial sweeteners come into play.

Sucralose and acesulfame potassium are artificial sweeteners or added sugars in Blue Rebel. While artificial sweeteners do not produce sleepiness or sugar crashes like sugar, there are concerns about their long-term safety.

Some of the disadvantages of added sugars or artificial sweeteners are:

  1. Sugar Cravings
  2. Weight Gain
  3. Type 2 Diabetes
  4. Hypertension
  5. Cardiovascular Diseases
  6. Cancer
  7. Headache
  8. Dental Health

Is Blue Rebel Keto-Friendly?

Since it contains sugar, Bue Rebel is not keto-friendly. On the other hand, its sugar-free form can be enjoyed on any diet and help you sustain your weight.

The Keto Diet is a way to keep your body in ketosis, a state in which fats are broken down and used as energy.

Taking carbs in amounts less than 5 grams per day is a common way to get your body to break down glycogen stores into monosaccharides, which are simple sugars like glucose that your body can digest.

Since the original form of Blue Rebel has 37g of sugar, it cannot be included in any diet food plan and can cause you weight gain instead of weight loss.

Pros and Cons of Blue Rebel Energy Drink

People’s preferences differ from one another. A fruity, less caffeinated sugar-free drink may appear to be the most appropriate choice. Still, due to the presence of added sugars and high calories, it may have the opposite effect for those who take large amounts of energy drinks.

Blue Rebel can be considered a good option for those who want to consume less caffeinated drinks and at the same time have no problem consuming a high sugar intake.

For me, it remains no go since body stability should always be a top priority, and we all know the harmful effects of the sugar rush on our health. I’d also like to keep my insulin receptors working by the time I’m 50.

Pros of Blue Rebel

  1. Light in consumption
  2. Less caffeine
  3. Offers fruity range

Cons of Blue Rebel

The potential cons of Blue Rebel are as follows:

  1. Presence of added sugars
  2. High calories
  3. Less protein

If you ask for my opinion, Blue Rebel is quite unfavorable and cannot be considered a safe and healthy energy drink to take owing to its excessive calorie and sugar content, which can have negative health consequences.
