Bang Energy Drink Australia by VPX Sports is the EU version of Bang with zero sugar and fewer additives compared to other energy drink brands in the market.
This drink is known for providing intensity, power, and efficiency. And most of all sustained endurance to help you get through a physical task.
The Australian Bang differs from the regular Bang in terms of calories, caffeine, vitamins, and other ingredients.
If you’re an avid drinker of Bang, you’ll like what I have in store for you in this article.
In this article, I will recount all of the major differences between the regular Bang Energy Drink and the Australian Bang.
If you’re ready to dive in, let’s begin!
Bang Australia vs Regular Bang
The regular Bang is an American made energy drink by Vital Pharmaceutical, while Bang Australia is the EU version created by VPX Sports.
For your reference, Bang Australia does not contain sugar, fats, and calories. It is also packed with 160 mg caffeine, inositol, and lots of vitamins.
On the other hand, the US Bang contains Super Creatine, BCAAs, EAAs, 300 mg caffeine, and some B-Vitamins.
To see the major differences of these two Bang variants, let look at the nutrition facts and ingredients closely.
Australian Bang vs Regular Bang Nutrition Facts
To start our comparison, let’s look at the nutrition facts of both versions of Bang Energy Drinks.
Both versions of the energy drinks have varying ingredients because the US and Australia have different food and drink regulations.
For instance, Bang Energy Drinks in the European Union do not contain the patented “Super Creatine” supplement because creatine is not allowed as a food or beverage ingredient in Europe.
Have a look at this table to compare the nutrition facts of the Australian Bang and US Bang.
|Australian Bang (500 mL)
|Regular Bang (16 fl.oz)
|Vitamin B3- Niacin
Now onto the ingredients of Australian Bang to find out the major differences!
Bang Australia Ingredients
Each 500 mL can of Bang Australia is stuffed with the following ingredients:
- Carbonated Water
- Citric Acid
- Potassium Citrate
- Potassiums Phosphate Dibasic
- Sodium Benzoate
- Potassium Sorbate
- Acesulfame Potassium
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin B3
- Vitamin B5
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin B12
- Magnesium Sulphate
- Calcium Chloride
As you can see, Australian Bang does not contain Super Creatine, EAAs, and CoQ10, which are all present in the regular variant.
If you’re curious to know if the original Bang does have Super Creatine, check out this article that I have written.
And if you’re up for more interesting info, see this article outlining the results of how much CoQ10 and amino acids are present in the regular Bang variant.
Now, let’s move further by taking a closer at the main ingredients of the Australian Bang vs the regular Bang, in terms of caffeine, calories, and B-Vitamins.
Calories in Bang Australia
The Australian variant of Bang contains a minimal amount of 4 calories, while regular Bang contains zero calories.
This is not a big deal-breaker for me because this is very little relative to the amount of suggested daily calorie intake per day.
According to experts the amount of calories you need to function per day is:
- women: 2,000 calories per day
- men: 2,500 calories per day
Australian Bang, despite having more calories, can still be consumed if you’re trying to lose weight, and if consumed minimally, the small amount of calories are unlikely to affect your diet.
Moving on, let’s look at the caffeine content.
Caffeine in Bang Australia
The Australian version of Bang contains 160 mg of caffeine, almost half of the caffeine content of regular Bang.
Personally, this is ideal for me because regular Bang is already considered a hardcore energy drink. In other words, the standard variant of Bang is regarded as one of the strongest energy drinks available.
The recommended daily caffeine intake for healthy adults is capped at 400 mg. So, while 300 mg is permissible, it still sits at the high end of the scale. Drinking a high amount of caffeine every day increases the risk of feeling anxious and jittery. Not only that, but you may also be at risk of caffeine overdose.
On the other hand, the caffeine in the Australian Bang is moderately strong and is close to the caffeine content of Red Bull 16 fl. oz. at 148 mg.
That being said, I think Australian Bang could be a good choice for you if you’re a moderate energy drinker who wants something strong enough to sustain your energy level without risking caffeine overdose.
In addition, everyone has different caffeine tolerance levels which vary depending on age, weight, metabolism, level of activity, and pre-existing health conditions.
So, make sure to take some time to build up your tolerance before trying out high caffeinated energy drinks.
Do this by observing how your body reacts after finishing two cups of coffee, or by consuming energy drinks with relatively low caffeine levels such as the Bang Australia.
Building up your tolerance helps lower your risk of caffeine overdose and other caffeine-related conditions.
And if you think you have consumed too much caffeinated beverages, here are the symptoms you should look out for:
- faster breathing
- faster heart rate
- very fast or irregular heartbeat
- feeling sick or vomiting
- panic attack
If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a health professional right away.
Now, let’s proceed to the vitamin content.
Vitamins in Bang Australia
Australian Bang contains the B-Vitamins; thiamine, niacin, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, and cobalamin, while regular Bang only contains vitamin B3, B6, and B12.
For reference, here’s a table outlining the B-Vitamins found in Bang Australia, along with their benefits.
|Types of B Vitamin
|help in digesting fats
|good for skin health
|increases energy and strengthens the immune system
|promotes healthy metabolism
|aids production of red blood cells and nerve cells
Just by looking at this table, I am convinced that Bang Australia is a better choice in terms of vitamins and essential nutrients.
But don’t just rely on this drink to get those B-Vitamins because nothing beats a healthy and natural diet!
Inositol is another ingredient that makes Bang Australia different from the regular Bang.
Inositol is found in fiber-rich foods such as brown rice, corn, and beans. It is also known as Vitamin B8 with antioxidant properties that fight free radicals.
Here are some of the many benefits of inositol:
- uplifts mood by affecting serotonin
- help blood sugar control
- may improve fertility in women with PCOS
- reduce symptoms of depression
According to a study, ingesting 6 grams of inositol per day reveals an improvement in depression, which means that drinking Bang Australia once in a while could be beneficial for you if you’re suffering from such a condition.
However, I would like to point out that Australian Bang only contains 14 mg inositol, which may not be enough to achieve the improvement that you’re expecting.
The dosage that you’ll be needing will depend on your health conditions and other factors. So, I strongly suggest talking to your doctor to get the right dosage.
Give this short clip a watch to learn more about inositol.

Bang Energy Alternatives
If you feel like both Bang variants aren’t your cup of tea, here are a few recommendations for you:
Regular Bang and Bang Australia vary in calorie content, caffeine level, vitamin, and supplement content.
The Australian variant of Bang contains great ingredients like inositol, which is not present in regular Bang. The downside to this, however, is that it’s also lacking a few supplements which only regular Bang has such as EAAs, CoQ10, and perhaps creatine.
In my opinion, both Bang variants are equally good and I didn’t really see any bad ingredients that can potentially harm you, as long as you consume them responsibly.
Even if these two have quite a few differences in terms of ingredients, I believe that they work well in providing you a good boost that’ll last for quite a while.
So, drink a can of Bang Australia today and see the difference yourself!
