Is Bang Energy Drink Bad For You?

Bang Energy drink is not bad for you, but it is potentially dangerous if you are sensitive to caffeine. 

I know some first-time consumers of Bang who weren’t able to handle the high caffeine amount and experienced incredible restlessness. 

There are instances where they vomited, sweat too much, and felt jittery.

While Bang is calorie-free and sugar-free, its high caffeine level poses a huge risk to your health, especially if you have low caffeine tolerance.

If you’re keen on trying Bang Energy Drink I strongly suggest you just take a few sips. Do not finish the whole can in one sitting. 

Aside from the high risk of caffeine overdose, there is also a health risk concerning sodium benzoate.

Sodium Benzoate

Sodium benzoate is a preservative added to some sodas, packaged foods, and personal care products to prolong shelf life.

Sodium benzoate does not occur naturally, but benzoic acid is found in many plants, including cinnamon, cloves, tomatoes, berries, plums, apples, and cranberries.

Bang Energy uses sodium benzoate in its formulation which is quite a controversial ingredient that Coca-Cola removed from its beverages in 2008.

This is because there are studies that show a combination of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), which Bang also contains, and sodium benzoate will turn into benzene, a carcinogen that may cause cancer.

However, sodium benzoate is the first preservative the FDA allowed in foods and is still a widely used food additive. It is classified as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS), meaning that experts consider it safe when used as intended.

Does Bang Energy Drink Actually Work?

Bang Energy Drink does work in enhancing your energy as it can keep you awake and alert for hours.

I know many people especially those in night shift duty drinking Bang and they were surprised that it actually helped them pull all-nighters.

Imagine it this way, a cup of coffee contains about 90 mg of caffeine while Bang contains 300 mg. So it is technically thrice as powerful as your average cup of coffee.

Aside from that, I think it is important to share that Bang doesn’t cause sugar crashes after consumption.

The body naturally produces creatine. However, experts found that an additional intake of this supplement enhances athletic performance and muscle development.

Creatine is definitely an amazing supplement and if I am not mistaken only Bang is the energy drink that is enriched with creatine.

These two flavors are unique and it’s always a treat whenever I have them. I have never tasted these flavors in other energy drink brands before!

I also like that Bang has a lot of fruity flavors like Apple Crisp, Strawberry, Key Lime Pie, and Lemon Drop. When you buy the fruity flavors you’ll smell them right away as soon as you open the can.

Overall, Bang did a good job of masking the common taste of ordinary energy drinks.
