How Many Calories Are In Aspire Energy Drink?

Aspire Energy Drink is completely calorie-free.

If you’re looking for a low-calorie energy drink for your diet, Aspire Energy definitely ticks all the boxes. Being a calorie-free energy drink would mean that Aspire wouldn’t affect your daily intake, and you wouldn’t have to worry about unnecessary calories either.

For context, the recommended daily caloric intake is 2000 to 2400 calories for women and 2400 to 3000 calories for men.

Since Aspire doesn’t contain calories, most of your energy would come directly from its caffeine. Which would leave you feeling quite hungry later.

So, if you want to take full advantage of the benefits that Aspire can give you, make sure to drink it alongside a nutritious meal.

How Much Caffeine Does Aspire Energy Drink Have?

A 12 fl.oz can of Aspire Energy Drink has 80mg of caffeine.

With 80mg, Aspire Energy Drink has the same caffeine content as Red Bull (80mg per 8.4 fl.oz), which is a pretty small amount for an energy drink of its size. In fact, it’s nearly the same as a cup of coffee (95mg of caffeine).

Of course, Aspire’s low-caffeine nature would mean that it’s suitable for everyone, especially if you have low caffeine tolerance.

After all, although Aspire only has 80mg of caffeine, it can still provide you with a decent boost to keep you awake and improve your exercise performance as well as cognition.

While caffeine is beneficial in providing stimulation and enhancing your performance, it’s important to take note of the FDA’s recommended daily caffeine limit, which is 400mg for healthy adults.

Anything else than that, and you may encounter unfavorable impacts, for example,

  • Severe Headaches
  • Anxiousness / Irritability
  • Frequent Urination
  • Increased Heartbeat
  • Insomnia
  • Muscle Spasms

Because the difference may be due to how we metabolize caffeine at a different rate. If you have a slower metabolism rate, you will feel the full effects of caffeine even though you may have only taken a few sips.

In any case, be sure to moderate your Aspire intake to a personal tolerable limit, and monitor your overall caffeine consumption too.

Does Aspire Energy Drink Have Sugar?

Aspire Energy Drink doesn’t contain any sugar since it’s certified completely sugar-free.

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the limit of consuming added sugars are:

Men150 calories / day37.5 g or 9 tsp.
Women100 calories / day25 g or 6 tsp.
Sugar Limits for Men and Women

Always consume sugars in moderation. You don’t want to get addicted to them, as too much sugar will lead to the following:

Short-Term Effects:

  • Low Energy Levels (Sugar Crash)
  • Low Mood
  • Fatigue
  • Bloating

Long-Term Effects:

  • Acne
  • Weight Gain / Obesity
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • High-Blood Pressure
  • Accelerate Skin Aging Process
  • Fatty Liver
  • Cavities
  • Increased Risk of Cancer

As a sugar-free energy drink, Aspire substitutes sugar with an artificial sweetener, sucralose. Sucralose is a zero-calorie sweetener that functions to improve the taste of food and beverages, especially low-calorie products.

Plus, sucralose doesn’t contain carbs, so it doesn’t raise your blood sugar levels, making it a pretty attractive option if you’re looking forward to shedding a few extra pounds.

While sucralose is an FDA-approved sweetener, it’s best to consume it in moderation, as artificial sweeteners have been linked to some health concerns.

Do The Artificial Sweeteners In Aspire Actually Work?

Sucralose gives Aspire energy drink a sweet flavor.

Sucralose is said to be unique among sweeteners because it’s made from real sugar. Its chemical structure makes it 600 times sweeter than sugar while having no calories at all.

One of the main reasons for its popularity is that it doesn’t give any bitter aftertaste like other sweeteners. The FDA reviewed more than 110 studies before declaring sucralose safe for general use in 1998.

While sucralose doesn’t increase insulin levels and blood sugar levels, there are still concerns about its long-term effects. Keeping that in mind, you should consume sucralose in moderation to avoid any unknown side effects.

Does Aspire Energy Drink Actually Work?

Aspire energy drinks can enhance your exercise performance and enable you to exercise for a longer period.

The energy drink can improve your performance because of its moderate amount of caffeine. Other benefits of caffeine include:

  • Boosting long term memory
  • Improving alertness
  • Boosting weight loss
  • Lowering the risk of kidney stone
  • Helping to prevent skin cancer
  • Improving brain function

The benefits of drinking Aspire energy drink might be tempting, but don’t drink too much of it. Otherwise, you may experience complications related to caffeine.

Is ASPIRE good for weight loss?

ASPIRE is a brand of carbonated, calorie-burning beverages marketed as aids for weight loss. These drinks typically contain caffeine, B-vitamins, and other ingredients that claim to boost metabolism and provide an energy boost. It can help you lose weight by also energizing you for your work out routines.

While ASPIRE may be low in calories or contain ingredients that can potentially support weight management efforts, it’s crucial to approach weight loss holistically. A well-rounded approach involving a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and healthy lifestyle choices is typically more effective for achieving sustainable weight loss goals

Does ASPIRE actually burn calories?

\ASPIRE beverages are marketed as “calorie-burning” due to their caffeine content and potential thermogenic effects. Caffeine can temporarily boost metabolism and increase energy expenditure, potentially resulting in the burning of additional calories. However, the extent of these effects may vary among individuals and is influenced by several factors.

It’s important to note that the calorie-burning potential of ASPIRE or any beverage is relatively modest compared to the impact of overall diet and physical activity. Relying solely on a calorie-burning beverage without making other healthy lifestyle choices may not yield significant weight loss results.

What Does Aspire Energy Drink Taste Like?

I managed to get my hands on Aspire’s Peach Tea Lemonade flavor, and drank it before my workout.

All in all, Aspire Energy has a light and clean fruity taste that isn’t too sweet, with a refreshing carbonated finish.

However, the Peach Tea flavor wasn’t as delicious as I expected. The peach taste was quite artificial to me, and combining with the soft flavor of tea and some carbonation didn’t make it any better.

To be honest, I’ve always been a fan of fruity flavors, but Aspire’s Peach Tea Lemonade was just dissatisfying to my taste buds personally. However, there are other flavors from Aspire that I’ve yet to try, so I might change my mind later.

That said, what I like about Aspire was that it wasn’t very sweet, like many energy drinks out there, and didn’t leave much of an aftertaste.

Final Thoughts

Personally, Aspire Energy provided me with a pretty decent boost for my workouts, but it last as long as I expected it to. The taste was also dissatisfying for me, though that’s based on my own preference.

In terms of effects, Aspire Energy gave me a decent boost within minutes after one can, improving my concentration and providing me with the energy to push through my reps at the gym.

I was able to work out longer after drinking Aspire, and I noticed my mental focus had also increased, as I didn’t find myself getting easily distracted as I sometimes would during my reps.

With that being said, the boost from Aspire also lasted for only one hour and a half, though I should have expected it considering Aspire only has 80mg of caffeine. I also didn’t notice much of a change in my alertness.

Furthermore, the Peach Tea Lemonade flavor wasn’t to my liking, though that’s just for me personally.

In my opinion, Aspire Energy provided me with a pretty great boost that improves my physical and cognitive performance, though it didn’t have a similar effect on my alertness. The boost also only lasted for a short time, which is just enough to keep you going for a quick exercise or study session.

Of course, depending on your personal preferences and caffeine metabolism, Aspire might affect your differently.
