I published a separate post regarding Bang Shot’s caffeine and ingredients which you can check out here.

Bang Shots Caffeine Content

The Bang Shot energy drink has a caffeine content of 300mg per 3 fl oz.

This is a lot of caffeine when compared to other caffeinated beverages like Emerge and Amino energy drinks, which offer 75mg and 100mg of caffeine respectively.

It should be noted that it contains the same 300mg caffeine level as Bang (the larger and canned form of Bang Shots), which is extremely near the FDA’s caffeine limit.

According to the FDA, the maximum quantity of caffeine that appears safe to consume by most healthy individuals is 400mg.

With this amount, you consumed more than two cups of coffee a day. Taking this large amount of caffeine every day might affect your sleep cycle.

In addition to that, consuming too much caffeine more than your body can handle may result in the following:

  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Occasional rapid heartbeat
  • Headaches
  • Dehydration
  • Heartburn
  • Upset Stomach
  • Irritability
  • Jitters
  • Restlessness and shakiness

Caffeine is the most important component in the Bang Energy Shot. In fact, it contains the highest dose (300mg) compared to other energy drinks in the market.

Actually, there’s no harm in consuming caffeine. Caffeine when consumed in moderation has the following benefits:

  • Improving cognitive performance
  • Reducing the likelihood of exhaustion
  • Increasing reaction times
  • Reduce your chances of developing mouth cancer
  • Lowering the risk of stroke in women over the age of 65
  • Enhance energy states
  • Memory enhancement
  • Burned Fat
  • Improved Physical Performance
  • Essential Nutrients
  • Reduce Type 2 Diabetes
  • Protection from Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Protection from Dementia
  • Reduced Risk of Parkinson’s Disease
  • Lowered Risk of Certain Types of Cancer
  • Reduced Risk of Stroke
  • Antioxidants

However, if you have medical complications, better stay away from consuming caffeinated beverages for the sake of your health.

Bang Shots Sugar Content

The 90ml Bang Energy Shot has zero added sugar. However, the brand used artificial sweeteners such as sucralose (which is 400-700 times sweeter than sugar) and sugar alcohol as a replacement.

Several energy drink manufacturers now employ artificial sweeteners like sucralose and sugar alcohol simply because they have no effect on your calorie intake.

Aside from that, these artificial sweeteners are essential substances that provide Bang Shot its sweet flavor.

Although it’s FDA-approved and guaranteed safe to consume, some vegetarians don’t consider sucralose as a vegan product. The reason is, this artificial sweetener involved animals as a test subject throughout their production process.

Apart from that, artificial sweeteners such as Sucralose and Ace-K may also expose you to the following health risks if consumed excessively:

  • Diabetes
  • Increase risk of bowel syndrome
  • Weight gain
  • Increased blood glucose and insulin levels
  • Depression
  • Premature Birth
  • Decline in cognitive capacity

If you have medical complications, better avoid consuming artificial sweeteners for your health’s sake.

Although Bang Shot doesn’t contain any sugar, it’s still important to know why many people are sensitive when it comes to it.

According to this study, sugar has been linked to a variety of health issues including:

  • Obesity
  • High blood pressure
  • Fatty liver disease
  • Chronic inflammation

However, sugar, when consumed in moderation, may also provide a few major health advantages such as:

  • Gives you a boost of energy
  • Save your energy for a later use
  • Immediately improve your mood
  • Help improve your concentration

Just keep in mind AHA‘s daily sugar intake limit so that you can gauge whether you’re consuming more than the recommended amount.

AHA states that the maximum daily sugar intake is about 9 teaspoons (150 calories) for men and 6 teaspoons (100 calories) for women.

How Many Calories Are In Bang Energy Shot?

Bang Energy Shots contain 6 calories per 3 fl oz serving. Compared to Red Bull with a whopping 110 calories per 8.4 ounces serving, this is a minimal quantity.

Just be reminded of the FDA‘s recommended daily calorie content, which typically ranges between 1600 and 2000 kcal for females and 2000 to 3200 kcal for males.

Your calorie consumption, however, varies depending on your age, size, gender, and degree of exercise.

In addition to caffeine, Bang Shot contains other ingredients such as amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. These ingredients can provide additional benefits such as improved athletic performance and increased mental clarity. Bang Shot also provides a reasonable energy boost for your daily needs.

Generally, consuming one can a day is a cautious guideline to avoid excessive caffeine intake and potential side effects. The recommended daily consumption of Bang energy drinks varies based on individual factors like caffeine tolerance, overall health, and possible side effects.

Considering your caffeine sensitivity, age, and other sources of caffeine in your diet is important. Prioritizing hydration, proper nutrition, and consulting healthcare professionals ensures responsible consumption that supports the well-being of younger individuals.

What Happens When You Drink Bang Shot Energy Drink?

Due to its powerful ingredients, this energy drink is indeed a great energy booster. It’s highly caffeinated thus very effective to use in your pre-workout regime.

Although I’m not a fan of highly caffeinated energy drinks, I usually grab a couple of them and consume them once or twice a week.

It usually takes 20-30 minutes to kick in based on what I’ve experienced. However, all the substance breaks down after around 4-6 hours or more depends on how your body reacts to it.

I normally drink half of it first, then the other half after another 30 minutes since I can’t drink it all at once.

I love drinking this energy shot cold. It just gives me the chilling sensation I need to keep me awake and alert during my work shift.

The flavor was fantastic. It’s bold and direct, with a hint of sweetness, which I think is a great combination.

Once again, if you have a poor caffeine tolerance, I suggest limiting yourself to one can. This is to avoid caffeine overdose and other caffeine-related health problems.

Actually, it’s better to ingest them when you’re convinced that you really need a caffeine boost.

If you’re having a second thought about whether this powerful caffeinated beverage works, I posted a separate article for that which you can check out here.

Is Bang Energy Shot Good For You?

Bang Shots are a popular pre-workout energy drink that can be found all across the country. It’s also a great alternative to Bang’s regular version.

Aside from the 300mg caffeine content, this carbonated drink is also packed with powerful components such as electrolytes, branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs)CoQ10, and SUPER CREATINE.

Let’s have a look at what these substances are used for.

Brand-Chained Amino Acids (BCAAs)

Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine are the three essential amino acids that make up the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). One of its vital roles is to build and prepares muscles.

Bear in mind that these amino acids can only be obtained by consuming foods.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a nutrient present in a range of foods as well as in the human body. One of its most important functions is to act as antioxidant protecting cells from injury.

Electrolytes

Electrolytes are essential minerals that are necessary for numerous bodily activities such as regulating muscle contraction, helping balance your pH level, and many others.

SUPER CREATINE

Super Creatine is a component that’s commonly advertised in VPX Bang energy drinks.

It’s supposed to break down into Creatine, a molecule that helps muscles recover after exercise. However, no investigation has been conducted to establish that Bang Energy Shots include Creatine.

Apparently, what they have is a Creatine bonded to L-Leucine. These two substances when combined become water-stable thus make it easy to penetrate the blood barrier in the brain.

You can watch this video for additional information on what is inside the Bang Shot energy drink.

Caffeine-rich energy drinks, particularly those with a high caffeine content, are not recommended for children. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, extreme restlessness, and other adverse symptoms may occur.
